Kimberly Turner

Kimberly Turner is HR Director for Ted Brown Music, the family-owned music retailer that has served Washington state since 1931. Ted Brown opened his first store in downtown Tacoma during the Great Depression, driven by a passion for helping people make music. Through the turmoil of those years and every decade since, the company has brought the joy, camaraderie and relaxation of making music to countless people. Kimberly oversees the human resources needs of all eight Ted Brown Music locations. She helps build and support the teams that carry that founding passion forward every day. Her work reflects the company’s belief that music is for everyone, and that a strong, well-supported staff is essential to helping customers of all ages pursue their musical dreams. In 2026 Kimberly attended the Women of NAMM Leadership Summit and shared her story in her NAMM Oral History interview.
