Steve Rorie landed a part time job the very same day he graduated high school at the Vincent Bach plant in Elkhart, Indiana. He later would accompany his grandfather and father at EK Blessings to observe them while they worked honing and de-burring trumpet valves . His passion for how musical instruments are made runs in his blood and over the years, Steve worked his way up from the work bench and buffing room to management and director of manufacturing. In 1985, while working for Selmer, Steve was on the team that moved the Ludwig Drum manufacturing from Chicago to Monroe, North Carolina. At the time of his 2018 NAMM Oral History interview, Steve managed the educational and dealer relations for the Midwest Division of Buffet Crampon USA, which he feels utilizes his extensive background in management, manufacturing, and customer service.
