Job Title
Live sound Production Manager

Walter “HYPE” Hall is a respected live sound production manager whose career reflects a lifelong dedication to music and the technical artistry behind the stage. Introduced to music in the fourth grade through the trumpet, HYPE performed throughout his school years and into college, crediting influential teachers, church ensembles, and local bands for shaping his early musical foundation. His professional path expanded when he began interning at his uncle’s studio, gaining hands-on experience with sound reinforcement, backline support, and instrument maintenance. These formative opportunities led to work alongside artists such as Doug Wimbish and Living Colour, and ultimately to an international career managing live productions, including global tours with PARTYNEXTDOOR. A proud member of Roadies of Color United, HYPE accepted the 2026 NAMM Oral History Award on behalf of founders Lance ‘KC’ Jackson and Bill Reeves. His work continues to highlight the essential role production professionals play in bringing live music to audiences worldwide.
