At The 2017 NAMM Show, legendary songwriter-musician and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Robbie Robertson (The Band, Bob Dylan) was presented with The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) “Music for Life” award for his decades of musical contributions, which have influenced musical genres, songwriting and guitarists, as well as numerous film scores, compositions and even his own autobiography, Testimony.

Earlier today, The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation and its member companies shared the sound of music with district and city officials and the students of Patrick Henry Elementary School in Anaheim, California as part of the organization’s Day of Service.

The 2017 NAMM Show is just around the corner, and with it, top musical acts are scheduled to rock The NAMM Nissan Grand Plaza stage. This year will bring a variety of artists from across the sonic spectrum, with each evening offering performances from rock legends, a pro-athlete and accomplished jazz musician, and an R&B hitmaker, all in the spirit of musical diversity that can be found at The NAMM Show.

The NAMM Foundation has announced that eight culturally significant musical inventions ranging from 1954 through 1998 will be inducted to its TECnology Hall of Fame, Saturday, January 21 at The NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. The ceremony will be presented by The NAMM Museum of Making Music and will be hosted by veteran pro-audio journalist George Petersen.

At the core of every NAMM member is a passionate champion for music education, and there is no better time to connect with fellow advocates, resources, and opportunities than at The 2017 NAMM Show. Each day of the show will present a multitude of events and opportunities to learn, network with peers, and to engage on topics at the fore of music education advocacy.

The NAMM Foundation and The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus are pleased to announce three exceptional schools and their music programs as the winners of a recording residency on the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus: Scotts Valley High School (Scotts Valley, California), Country Club Hills District 160(Country Club Hills, Illinois) and Herricks UFSD (New Hype Park, New York).

Following three decades of digital interfaces and sampler dominance, a new generation of musicians desiring a return to warm, pure sounds are fuelling a resurgence in analog synthesizer retail sales. In the past five years alone, Moog Inc., Korg USA Inc., WMD and other brands who will present their synths and electronic products at the 2017 global music products NAMM Show have helped drive the analog synth market to a 19.9% growth in total retail sales.

The NAMM Foundation is pleased to announce that it has recognized 60 college music students with the organization’s prestigious President’s Innovation Award. The annual award provides outstanding college music students exploring a career in music education, music business and/or music products a stipend to attend The 2017 NAMM Show, the annual global music products tradeshow held in Anaheim California, January 19-22, 2017.  

At The 2017 NAMM Show, inspiration and innovation, transformative business know-how, and leading strategies and tips for music industry professionals and businesses of all sizes will be offered through more than 120 free educational sessions. The Show’s NAMM U and TEC Tracks sessions have been designed to inspire members from various disciplines within the music products industry — from music product retailers and manufacturers to professionals in pro audio, live sound and lighting.
