GrandMixer DXT, uniquely dubbed the world's first "Turntablist," will be presented with the Hip-Hop Innovator Award at the TEC Experience on Thursday, April 13, at The 2023 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. The award recognizes an artist whose work has advanced the art form of hip-hop and honors GrandMixer DXT’s contribution in innovating the turntable as a musical instrument, the impact of which can be heard in every musical genre.

GRAMMY® winner, composer, and musician John Fogerty will be presented with the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) “Music for Life” award at The 2023 NAMM Show on April 13 in Anaheim, California. The award is the music products, pro audio, and entertainment technology industry’s highest honor and is presented in recognition of Fogerty’s lifelong contributions to music and commitment to inspiring music makers everywhere.

Chuck D, the legendary leader and founder of rap group Public Enemy, social activist, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and GRAMMY® Lifetime Achievement Award winner, will be honored with NAMM’s Impact Music & Culture Award at The 2023 NAMM Show, being held April 13-15, in Anaheim, California. The Impact Music & Culture Award was conceived by musician, producer and songwriter Brian Hardgroove as an opportunity to recognize individuals who move culture through the power of music. The award will be presented at NAMM for the very first time.

After a comprehensive year-long search, The NAMM Executive Committee and CEO Search Committee is pleased to announce industry veteran and music education advocate John Mlynczak as the next President and CEO of The National Association of Music Merchants.

CARLSBAD, Calif. – February 7, 2023 – The 2023 NAMM Show will celebrate two of history’s most impactful musical innovations: the 40th anniversary of MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) with MIDI@40 and the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, with Hip-Hop@50. Each day of the show, which takes place April 13–15, in Anaheim, California, will offer the intertwined story of hip-hop and MIDI, and the relationship between technology and music creation.

Signature programs and events of The NAMM Foundation including GenNext, Music Education Days, the Nonprofit Management Institute, and the Grand Rally for Music Education, will return to The 2023 NAMM Show, April 13-15 in Anaheim, California.

Earlier today at the Annual Meeting of Members of the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), eight new board members were elected to the organization’s Board of Directors. Each board member will serve a three-year term and provide oversight, input, and direction to the organization.

The 2023 NAMM Show will offer established and emerging professionals in the music products, pro audio, and entertainment technology segments a suite of 200-plus professional development sessions. Held in the Anaheim Convention Center, professionals will have the opportunity to elevate their businesses and further their careers by connecting with top thought leaders in sessions carefully curated to accelerate success and designed to engage and inspire business growth against the backdrop of the global gathering. The NAMM Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2023 scholarship award programs. The awards, made possible by the generosity of NAMM members and donors, provide funds to emerging industry leaders, college students and faculty to participate in The 2023 NAMM Show, April 13-15, in Anaheim, California. At the show, recipients will experience the opportunity to engage in continued advancement and professional development and students and faculty will be introduced to industry careers and networking opportunities only found at The NAMM Show.

Pensado’s Place, the global powerhouse of pro audio insights, education, and mentorship returns to The NAMM Show, April 13-15, 2023. The weekly online show, co-hosted by Dave Pensado and Herb Trawick, will welcome NAMM Show attendees to connect with luminaries in audio production in a live-format of the popular web show.

The NAMM Young Professionals (YP) has proudly paired seven mentees and mentors in a yearlong mentorship experience. The program, which launched in 2018 and now marks its 10th class, will include individuals from Instrumental Music Center; Korg USA; Martin Guitars; The Music People; The Music Shoppe; Nick Rail Music; Spicer’s Music; Shure; Sweetwater; and Taylor Guitars.   

At The 2023 NAMM Show, The NAMM Foundation will launch NAMM’s Million More Music Makers, a new initiative that offers hands-on training to expand guitar, ukulele, and bass music learning opportunities in schools and communities for people of all ages.
