Relative: Daughter of Carl Langevin

Barbara Rodney is the step-daughter of Carl Langevin who took time in front of our camera to provide an in-depth look into her family’s history and her remembrances of her step-dad. She was in the first grade when her mother and Carl were married. The year was 1945 and young Barbara served as their flower girl. Some years later it was Carl who walked Barbara down the aisle for her own wedding. Both Carl and her mother were skilled Ham Radio operators. Carl went on to create innovative Pro Audio and recording gear used in Live Sound settings as well as recording studios. What Barbara remembers from those times is how he worked on his Loud Speakers and radio equipment. In later years she went to the nursing home with her mother to visit Carl after he suffered a series of health issues before his passing. For her own career, Barbara became a school teacher and traveled the world with her first husband living in such places as England and India.
