Bonnie Raitt

Ed Cherney won a Grammy Award for his work as recording engineer for the 1989 Bonnie Raitt’s album “Nick of Time.” This was just one of his many projects as mixer and engineer. He has worked with the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Elton John, just to name a few. During his career he helped to pioneer recording techniques and equipment as well as build several studios. Ed has won TEC Awards for his work in the industry and is a founding member of the Music Producers Guild of America, which is now the Producers and Engineer’s Wing of The Recording Academy.  

Mike Finnigan was a leading Hammond B3 performer who recorded with many of the top performers in pop, rock, and jazz for nearly 60 years, although his soul had always been rooted in rhythm and blues. In the late 60s, he recorded with Jimi Hendrix and Joe Cocker. Up until the 2020s he toured and recorded with Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal and Tower of Power. In 2017, Mike became an official endorsee of Hammond-Suzuki, promoting the latest model of the B3, which Mike began playing as a teenager.  

James "Hutch" Hutchinson’s career is rooted in the fertile San Francisco music scene of the early 1970s, where he performed with John Cipollina in Copperhead. His reputation as a premier "pocket" bassist led to a lifelong professional partnership with Bonnie Raitt, beginning in the early 1980s and appearing on landmark recordings such as Nick of Time. Hutch’s resume reads like a history of American roots music, featuring tenures with The Neville Brothers, Al Green, B.B. King, and Ringo Starr.

Gordon Kennedy is the songwriter behind such hits as Eric Clapton’s “Change the World” and Bonnie Raitt’s “Gypsy in Me.” As many may also know, Gordon is a sought after musician who has recorded and performed with Garth Brooks, Ricky Skaggs and Peter Frampton (to name but a few).

Will McFarlane has proudly traveled the world touring with some of the biggest names in music as a journeyman musician. He toured with Bonnie Raitt in the 1970s, which was a wonderful experience considering his love of the Blues and all of the great iconic players who would join her on stage. Ricky Peterson is a lifelong Minnesotan musician whose family is deeply rooted in a characteristically “Minneapolis” sound. Ricky is best known for his 20 year association with saxophone legend David Sanborn, and for having produced, written and played keyboards for Prince. Peterson has also enjoyed live/studio associations with George Benson, Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, Billy Joel and Larry Graham, among others. Ricky arranged and produced the song “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World” for Prince as well as producing “Songs From The Night Before” for David Sanborn.

Rick Vito not only grew up in a home filled with music, but with his parents owning a night club he also had a built in venue as a young musician! He started playing guitar for local doo-wop and rock bands in and around his home state of Pennsylvania. Admiring the blues and learning the slide guitar, Rick soon found himself opening for Muddy Waters in 1969, a true milestone in his career.
