Kimberly Deverell studied music education in college and quickly found herself drawn into the dynamic world of music retail, landing a job that led to her first NAMM Show—a transformative experience that opened her eyes to the vast and vibrant music products industry. True to form, Kimberly dove in wholeheartedly, eagerly learning, contributing, and stepping up wherever she saw an opportunity to make a difference. Ricky Zayas remembers with a smile purchasing his first trumpet back in 1987 for just $60.00! The instrument came about based on the urging of a neighbor and the influence of his band director, Mr. Martinus. Ricky served as a band director for over twenty years in Puerto Rico, during which he noticed a real need for higher quality musical instruments. In 2012, along with his wife, opened R Zayas Music and soon became St. Louis Music’s main Puerto Rician dealer for all of their brands. They also carry several other brands including Conn-Selmer and Eastman Strings.
