ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 15, 2011--NAMM held its Annual Meeting of Members today during the 2011 NAMM Show. After introducing past presidents in attendance, reviewing the new annual report and recapping highlights of the year, Chairman Tom Schmitt called for the vote of the new slate of the NAMM Board of Directors. The third day of the NAMM Show kicked off with more tips and advice to retailers on how to enhance their businesses at the morning Breakfast Session called “The Retail Doctor’s Guide to Growing Your Business” featuring Bob Phibbs, The Retail Doctor. Phibbs drew upon his extensive retail experience and direct style to impart valuable advice to retailers about how to set their businesses apart from others in a competitive market.

The second day of the NAMM Show drew a strong crowd to the morning Breakfast Session called “Lessons Learned: How Doing Business Now Has Changed for the Better,” which focused on sharpening retail business techniques. Danny Rocks of The Company Rocks and retail experts George Hines of Hines Music; Alan Rosen of Bananas at Large; Mark Goff of Paige's Music; and Gayle Beacock of Beacock Music discussed their personal experiences and shared business tactics that have worked for them.

Amid a backdrop of arts education budget cuts, The NAMM Foundation today announced that it will continue its effort to recognize schools across the United States that support music education and provide opportunities for children and young people to learn and grow with music. 

The first day of the NAMM Show drew a capacity-crowd to the Breakfast of Champions opening show session at the Anaheim Hilton in the early morning hours, where NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond welcomed numerous industry laureates who shared valuable industry insight with attendees.

The NAMM Show, the largest music products trade show in the world, opened today at the Anaheim Convention Center welcoming tens of thousands of musical instrument manufacturers, retailers and associates to the industry’s annual gathering. Continuing its 109-year-old commitment to the piano industry, NAMM today announced a roster of special performances and educational sessions at the upcoming 2011 NAMM Show for piano dealers.
