The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) honored South Carolina’s Musical Innovations as the 2015 ‘Dealer of the Year’ at the fifth annual NAMM Top 100 Dealer Awards. The Friday evening gala held during Summer NAMM in Nashville honors excellence and innovation in music products retailing. The ‘Dealer of the Year’ and seven other category winners announced on July 10 are chosen from among NAMM’s 2015 Top 100 Dealers.

Music City Center will fill with the sweet sounds of live music as Summer NAMM returns to Nashville, July 9-11. The National Association of Music Merchant’s (NAMM) mid-year music industry gathering will play out with dozens of live performances, award shows and musical events. Summer NAMM is where the industry does the business behind the music by day, then dives into Nashville’s music scene by night.

Banding together, the music industry placed the power of making music in to the hands of people worldwide on Make Music Day, June 21.

Foundation’s grants support efforts that further NAMM’s vision of a world in which the joy of making music is a precious element of daily living for everyone.

Music industry leaders and musicians banded together during this week’s NAMM D.C. Fly-In encouraging congressional support for quality, comprehensive music education for all children. This effort came as Congress looks to reauthorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). The 2015 fly-in, NAMM’s largest ever, included a day of service at D.C.’s Bancroft Elementary, advocacy training at the Kennedy Center and more than 130 meetings with members of Congress.

The world’s top music retailers may stand up and take a bow as the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) recognizes 2015's Top 100 Dealers. The industry will celebrate the 2015 Top 100 Dealers, 2015’s Dealer of the Year and seven other category winners during the Top 100 Dealer Awards Friday night, July 10 during Summer NAMM.

Contrary to state and local pressures to de-emphasize and de-fund music and arts education, a new NAMM Foundation-funded, nationwide study of 1,000 teachers and 800 parents finds strong support for music education at all grade levels. “Striking a Chord: The Public’s Hopes and Beliefs for K-12 Music Education in the United States 2015,” was unveiled May 19 at the National Press Club during NAMM’s annual D.C. Fly-In for Music Education.

Celebrity artists including New York Yankee turned Latin GRAMMY-nominated guitarist Bernie Williams and award-winning opera singer Carla Dirlikov, join 41 music industry leaders to donate musical instruments and drum, ukulele and guitar lessons to student’s at D.C.’s Bancroft Elementary School, Monday, May 18. The artists and industry volunteers will teach music lessons to the school’s 75 fifth graders.

NAMM features three days of educational programming for live sound, recording and audio pros, including A3E keynote presented by Microsoft.
