The Parnelli Awards Board of Advisors announced that comedian and musician “Jammin" Jay Lamont will be the host for the 20th Annual PLSN/FOH Parnelli Awards, which will take place at the Anaheim Hilton on June 3 during The NAMM Show. 

Earlier today at the Annual Meeting of Members of the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), eight new board members were elected to the organization’s Board of Directors. Each board member will serve a three-year term and provide oversight, input, and direction to the association.

The NAMM Young Professionals (NAMM YP) Executive Committee has appointed current board member Michael Santander as Secretary of the Board of Directors, effective immediately. As a member of the NAMM YP Executive Committee, he will serve a two-year term as Secretary, subsequently followed by the roles of Vice President, President and Past President. After just six months of serving as a Director on the Board, Santander’s contributions, dedication, and vision for the organization were quickly noticed by many, including NAMM YP President Jeremy Payne and Vice President Melissa Ceo.

On Thursday, January 20 at Believe in Music, 20 artists from 20 countries will come together for five hours of livestream concert performances in a musical celebration as part of the Global Livestream. Over the course of the five-hour livestream, performers will unite the world in music.

Ahead of The 2022 NAMM Show, Believe in Music, the global online gathering to unify and support the people who bring music to the world, returns on Thursday, January 20 and Friday, January 21, with replay available through the weekend. The event will feature a combination of livestreamed interviews and performances, brand pages and educational sessions to serve all sectors of the music products, pro audio and entertainment technology industries, as well as music educators and administrators, nonprofit professionals, college-aged students and faculty, and music makers and advocates

Make Music Winter, a free outdoor musical celebration with exuberant and participatory parades, performances, and events throughout New York and in dozens of U.S. cities, will return on the Winter Solstice, Tuesday, December 21.

Today, The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) announced that The NAMM Show, the annual “family reunion” of the global music, sound, and entertainment technology industry, will reconvene in Anaheim, California at the Anaheim Convention Center on June 3–5, 2022.

From insightful, business-advancing professional development sessions and member-focused networking events to the latest in new gear from established and emerging brands, industry friends and colleagues reconvened in Nashville last week for Summer NAMM (July 15-16), the first in-person event for the industry in 18 months. Filled with optimism for the future, NAMM members gathered to invest in their businesses, reconnect with their industry relationships, and discover the connections, tools, and strategies to help inspire innovation and reignite business in a post-pandemic world.

Earlier today, NAMM announced the finalists for the 37th annual NAMM TEC (Technical Excellence and Creativity) Awards. The announcement coincided with the first day of Summer NAMM, where pro audio professionals and leading industry brands gathered, creating the ideal setting to recognize and celebrate the innovation and creativity of this year’s finalists.

Earlier this evening at Summer NAMM in a special celebration of the spirit of the independent retailer, the industry gathered at the Top 100 Dealer Awards. Now in its eleventh year, the awards honor retailers worldwide who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their stores, neighborhoods, and customers and share in a vision of creating a more musical world through their local communities. At the recent NAMM Board of Directors meeting, the NAMM Board elected a new Executive Committee to continue the organization’s legacy of service to the industry at-large. In a vote, the Board of Directors elected Joel Menchey, previously NAMM’s Vice Chair and CEO of Menchey Music Service, to the position of Chair of the NAMM Board of Directors.
