Women of NAMM (WON) is pleased to announce six recipients of its annual NAMM Show scholarship: Hailey Canfield, Dietze Music; Alia DiLullo, Gator Co.; Tamara Freethy, Cosmo Music; Kristi Noble, Quinlan and Fabish Music; Jessica Palmer, West Music/Music ConstructED; and Mandy Stertz, Pecknel Music Company. The annual scholarship program seeks to support women with goals to connect, support, and grow as professionals and leaders, and to partake in professional development education, networking and mentoring with women who are industry leaders at The NAMM Show.

The Bernice Ash Memorial Scholarship Fund is pleased to announce the first two recipients of its award, Kwanté Greenidge, General Manager of Sam Ash Music - Brooklyn and Anna Nguyen, Digital Marketing Analyst at Yamaha Corporation of America. The scholarship, which was founded in 2021, honors the remarkable life and legacy of Bernice Ash, a music retail visionary who spearheaded the expansion of the Sam Ash family-owned music stores, broadening inventory for the chain across multiple new categories.

NAMM’s Museum of Making Music and The NAMM Show (June 3-5) are pleased to welcome “Les Paul Thru the Lens,” an exclusive traveling gallery of photos highlighting the life and career of music industry icon, inventor, and musician Les Paul.

Music Hackspace, The MIDI Association, and NAMM are proud to announce that submissions are now open for the 2022 MIDI Innovation Awards, a showcase for music innovation using MIDI. MIDI has been at the center of music technology innovation since 1983, and MIDI 2.0 is poised to repeat MIDI 1.0’s global success in the decades to come. To further MIDI’s development and artistic impact, the second edition of the MIDI Innovation Awards continues to acknowledge MIDI innovation.

The TEC Awards Steering Committee is pleased to announce that actor, comedian, and musician Fred Armisen will return as host of the 37th Annual Technical Excellence and Creativity Awards (NAMM TEC Awards), being held Saturday, June 4 in Anaheim, California. Finalists for each of the 28 award categories, which honor individuals, companies, and technical innovations used in sound recordings, films, broadcast television, and video games, were recently announced in Nashville at Summer NAMM.

The 2022 NAMM Show is announcing more than 150 sessions for established and emerging professionals in the music products, pro audio and entertainment technology segments. Held in the Anaheim Convention Center, professionals will have the opportunity to further their careers by connecting with top thought leaders in sessions carefully curated to accelerate success and designed to engage and inspire business growth against the backdrop of the global gathering. Women of NAMM (formerly known as SWIM), is excited to announce that the council’s podcast, formerly known as “SWIM Masters,” is relaunching as ReVoicing the Future: A Women of NAMM Podcast. The monthly podcast offers insight, stories, and secrets to industry success from female leaders who share their professional journeys and lessons learned to empower the professional development of emerging talent.

On International Women’s Day, Smart Women in Music (SWIM) is pleased to announce the group’s evolution to Women of NAMM (WON) and status as an official, all-volunteer council of NAMM. With the move, WON will continue to pursue the vision, mission, and objectives set forth by SWIM to benefit women in the music products industry and expand to include female professionals in other NAMM member categories including the pro audio and entertainment technology segments.

NAMM welcomes its global retail members to be recognized for retail excellence as part of the organization’s annual Top 100 Dealer Awards. Now in its twelfth year, the annual awards honor retailers who have demonstrated a commitment to best-practices, creativity, and innovation in music products retail. The submissions process is now open for NAMM retail members and will close on Friday, March 18.

On Thursday, June 2, ahead of the opening of The 2022 NAMM Show, retail leaders, managers and professionals from across the industry are welcomed to participate in two half-day intensive training experiences, the Retail Innovation Summit and Retail Financial Summit. Each summit will provide the tools and strategies to successfully surmount the residual challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and supercharge business for the future. On Thursday, January 20, NAMM’s Believe in Music opened to welcome a global contingent of professionals and music enthusiasts from more than 120 countries and territories for professional development, live interviews, networking opportunities, and performances.
