NAMM, the International Music Products Association, announced today that Mary L. Luehrsen, director of Public Affairs and Government Relations, has been named to the advocacy committee of the International Society for Music Education (ISME) and the national steering committee of the Arts Education Partnership (AEP), representing NAMM’s Membership and the music products industry.

A new U.S. Gallup Poll reveals Americans of all ages are continuing to pursue music making and offers insight into the attitudes behind this passion as part of the 2006 Music USA: NAMM Global Report.

For the first time, NAMM, the International Music Products Association, will present professional development courses at Music China, October 18–21, 2006, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The NAMM University sessions will bring together leading industry experts from all over the world, cementing the fair's position as a critically important MI industry event in Asia. Music China is organized by the China Music instrument Association (CMIA), Messe Frankfurt and INTEX Shanghai, with support from NAMM as an International Cooperation Partner.

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, closed the 2006 Summer Session today at the Austin Convention Center reporting an overall 14 percent decrease in registrants from the 2005 summer trade show, with 17,207 total registrants for the three-day event.

Day three of the 2006 Summer Session featured more business meetings, product testing, a variety of NAMM University sessions, live music and ultra-fast drumming.

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, today announced final registration and exhibitor numbers for the 2005 NAMM Show. At show close, NAMM reported a 5 percent increase in overall registration for a grand total of 78,091 registrants. The organization previously announced breaking the all-time record of exhibitors with 1,428 companies taking space at this year's NAMM Show. International attendance grew substantially with a 10 percent increase for a total of 8,416 registrants from 91 countries.

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, announced today that Chase Dwelle of Grand Rapids, Mich., is the recipient of the 2005–2006 William R. Gard Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship, established in the name of former NAMM Executive Vice President William R. NAMM, the International Music Products Association, announced today that Mary L. Luehrsen, director of public affairs and government relations, has been named to the steering committee for the Mini-Conference on Creativity and Aging, an official planning advisory council of the White House Conference on Aging. The purpose of the conference is to develop policy recommendations effecting seniors to the president and Congress and to assist the public and private sectors in promoting the dignity, health, independence and economic security of older Americans.

The American Music Conference (AMC), the nonprofit affiliate of NAMM, is currently undergoing its annual membership drive so that people of all ages—from tots to seniors—have the opportunity to experience music's power.

NAMM (the International Music Products Association) released the results of a national survey today that reveals a record-setting level of musical instrument and product sales in 2004. Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM, noted that sales in the United States hit an all-time high of $7.353 billion last year.
