NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, announced today its plans for a five-state NAMM Town Hall Meeting Tour to engage industry retailers and professionals in constructive discussions about how NAMM can best serve its Members and the MI industry. The meetings are based on the successful outcomes of the 2006 Town Hall Meeting held in Michigan, where NAMM Members were able to discuss important issues facing their businesses in person with NAMM representatives outside of the NAMM Show setting.

NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, announced today that Genesis Press of Hialeah Gardens, Fla., was honored recently at the 19th Annual Florida Print Awards in recognition of the print quality of the Recruitment and Retention Guide, a source book produced by the Music Achievement Council (MAC) and NAMM. The piece was recognized in the “best of” category for Source Books to award the quality printing of the guide.

NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, today issued a call to action for all of its Commercial and Retail Members, and interested musicians, teachers and students concerned about potential import/export regulations that would place restrictions on finished musical instrument products made of Pernambuco wood, Honduras and Nicaraguan Rosewood. These products are typically used for violin and string instrument bows, banjos, guitars and mandolins.

The VH1 Save The Music Foundation and NAMM, the International Music Products Association is celebrating a donation of $400,000 to help restore 14 public school music programs throughout Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Hundreds of musical instruments have been donated to ensure that public school students throughout the Gulf Coast region have access to music education programs in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

According to the results of the eighth annual “Best 100 Communities for Music Education” survey, repeat recipients of this prestigious distinction cite increased enrollment in and funding for school music programs. While music education has been linked to higher SAT scores, math grades and future success in life, the survey also found that many students hailing from a "Best 100" community have continued their musical pursuits professionally as educators, or playing for renowned symphonies, opera houses, orchestras and on Broadway.

NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, today announced final registration and exhibitor numbers for the 2007 NAMM Show. At show close, NAMM reported a 4 percent increase in overall registration for a grand total of 84,695 registrants. The association previously announced breaking the all-time record of exhibitors with 1,535 companies displaying products at this year's NAMM Show. International attendance showed an 8 percent increase for a total of 9,889 registrants from more than 100 countries.
