Results from a national poll were released today by Lake Research Partners identifying a new strand of swing voters poised to support candidates and policy that ensures building capacities of the imagination in schools.

With the announcement of its second annual Wanna Play? awards, seven companies were honored this week by NAMM, the trade association for the international music products industry, for promoting music making in their product advertising and promotional efforts. The non-music companies used playing an instrument to convey messages of hope, excitement, coolness and desire.

NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, today announced final registration and exhibitor numbers for the 2008 NAMM Show. At show close, NAMM reported a 4 percent increase in overall registration from 2007 for a grand total of 88,128 registrants. The association previously announced breaking the all-time record of exhibitors with 1,560 companies displaying products at this year’s NAMM Show. International attendance showed a 7 percent increase for a total of 10,605 registrants from more than 100 countries.

Day four of the 2008 NAMM Show brought music products professionals to the Anaheim Convention Center for one final day of meetings, networking, education and music.

NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, held its Annual Meeting of Members today during the 2008 NAMM Show. After introducing past presidents in attendance, reviewing the new annual report and recapping highlights of the year, Chairman Chip Averwater called for the vote of the new slate of the NAMM Board of Directors. The following NAMM Members were elected for service from 2008 to 2011: Jon Harris is president of Harris/Teller, Inc., a full-line music products distributor, based in Chicago.

The third day of the 2008 NAMM Show drew thousands of music products professionals to the halls of the Anaheim Convention Center, where they checked out the newest gear, networked with industry members and watched live product demos by musical celebrities.
