In a star-studded event on Saturday, April 8, music icon Graham Nash, community champions and music education patrons came together to “Play it Forward” at NAMM’s Museum of Making Music’s (MoMM) gala fundraiser event, “An Evening with Graham Nash.” The annual event was attended by nearly 170 guests, and raised over $70,000 in donations that will further the MoMM’s mission to offer educational immersion opportunities, exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and live performances that inform and inspire guests on how musical instruments impact popular culture and connect lives.

The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) and Timeless Communications Corp. (TCC), publisher of Projection Lights & Staging News (PLSN), FRONT of HOUSE (FOH), and Stage Directions have formed an alliance to serve the live event production community at The 2018 NAMM Show, the organization’s annual tradeshow in Anaheim, California (January 25-28). As part of the agreement, TCC will bring its premier award show for the live production community, The Parnelli Awards to The NAMM Show creating a one-stop event for industry pros.

This week, 527 school districts and 92 schools across the nation are being recognized by The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for their outstanding music education programs.

NAMM Musikmesse Russia, the international fair for musical instruments, sheet music, music production and music business connections, and Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia, the international fair of technologies and services for entertainment, integrated systems and creation, will welcome visitors to Moscow’s Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre, September 14 to 17, 2017.

The Summer NAMM Show is calling musical acts of all genres to showcase their talents as part of the Bands @ NAMM program during the annual Summer NAMM Show, held July 13-15 at Nashville’s Music City Center. The Bands @ NAMM program offers artists the opportunity to submit their act to perform on one of the three days of the annual event.   

NAMM welcomes its global retail members to be recognized for their contributions to retail excellence as part of the annual Top 100 Dealer Awards. Now in its seventh year and held during the Summer NAMM Show (July 13-15, 2017) in Nashville, the awards honor music products retailers who have demonstrated a commitment to best-practices, creativity and innovation in music products retailing.

The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) has announced that the organization will make a grant to the Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA) Technical Standards Program (TSP). Accredited by the American National Standards Institute, ESTA’s TSP standards are used each day by manufacturers, dealers, installers, production companies and end users to provide a safe working and performance environment in venues of all sizes. The standards serve to prevent accidents, protect lives and property, and create cost and time efficiencies in the entertainment indust

NAMM members will return to the nation’s capital this spring for the organization’s 13th Annual Washington, D.C. Fly In for Music Education, May 22-25, 2017. As business owners and representatives, NAMM members will have the opportunity to advocate for the industry at-large to elected officials through a common mission to support the value and importance of music education to elected officials.

The world’s music products industry gathered in Anaheim, California last week for the annual NAMM Show, and with it, the symphonic harmonies of the industry could be heard echoing across the campus of the Anaheim Convention Center.

At The 2017 NAMM Show, a variety of music products companies and music retail stores were honored with the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Milestone Award. Presented annually by NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond, the Milestone Award recognizes music businesses that have flourished through changing business environments to reach a noteworthy anniversary.
