The NAMM Foundation is pleased to announce nominees for the 33rd NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards. The annual awards are presented at The NAMM Show in Anaheim, California (January 27, 2018), the global gathering of music, pro sound and event tech industries, and celebrate the spirit of innovation, honoring the best-in-class products in the pro audio community.

For NAMM members seeking a jumpstart to retail success in 2018, The NAMM Show returns with the perennial favorite: Retail Boot Camp. On Wednesday, January 24, before the Show officially opens, retail business owners, managers, sales personnel, marketers and accountants can rev up their retail and financial know-how through two tracks: Sales, Marketing and Website; or Financial Management. Each track is designed to impart practical, easy-to-implement ideas and business strategies designed to impact the bottom line.

All of us at NAMM would like to express our sincere concern for everyone impacted by the recent natural disasters. The coming weeks will be a difficult time of assessing damage and beginning recovery efforts. Alongside the U.S. government, national and local disaster relief organizations will be on the front lines of this work. We know that many of our members have been directly impacted and that many more of our members around the globe have been looking for ways to assist.

As the global crossroads of the music products, pro sound and event technology industries, The 2018 NAMM Show will offer a wealth of opportunities for professionals involved in event technology to enhance their careers and make meaningful connections. The robust schedule of professional education will be held each day of The 2018 NAMM Show, January 25-28 in the NAMM Education Campus located inside the Anaheim Hilton Hotel.

To be held concurrently with The 2018 NAMM Show from January 25-28 in Anaheim, CA, the inaugural AES@NAMM Pro Sound Symposium: Live & Studio is a unique education and training program being presented by the Audio Engineering Society. The four-day symposium comprises a unique, high-end education and training program targeted at professionals working in live sound, recording and audio for the performing arts.

The music begins at The 2018 NAMM Show, via the Bands @ NAMM program, a platform for artists of all ages and genres to showcase their talents to the crossroads of the industry. Held in Anaheim, California at the Anaheim Convention Center, January 25-28, The 2018 NAMM Show will host five stages across the campus. Locations include the Grand Plaza, the Marriott, Hilton, and Sheraton hotels, as well as a new stage in the Arena Plaza between the Anaheim Convention Center Arena and the new Anaheim Convention Center North building. 

The 2018 NAMM Show, the global crossroads of the music products, pro audio and sound, and event technology industries, will offer exhibitors and attendees the largest expanded campus in the show’s history when the doors open January 25-28, 2018 in Anaheim, California.

NAMM is pleased to announce the launch of the organization’s newest podcast, “The Music History Project.” The podcast is led by the NAMM Oral History Resource Center and features the people and products that define our audible experience. From music product innovators and creators to influential music store retailers and topline performing artists, the podcast connects listeners with luminaries across the musical spectrum.

As a platform to develop new business strategies, connect with industry peers and to springboard into a successful second-half of the year and the all-important holiday sales season, the 2017 Summer NAMM Show welcomed a plethora of buyers, exhibitors, artists, industry veterans and music professionals last week at Music City Center in Nashville (July 13-15). The annual show drew crowds of industry pros seeking to invest in their businesses and gain a competitive advantage in today’s dynamic marketplace.

Echoing the long-term stability of the 117-year-old organization, the NAMM Board of Directors unanimously voted in the next slate of officers earlier today at Summer NAMM in Nashville. At the meeting, the board officially welcomed each industry leader to new roles, representing a balanced composition of retail and commercial members. The 2017 Executive Committee includes Chair Robin Walenta, Vice-Chair Chris Martin IV, Treasurer Joel Menchy and Secretary Tom Sumner.

Earlier today at the Summer NAMM Show, The NAMM Foundation announced the appointment of five industry leaders to the organization’s newly created board of directors. Chris Martin, President and CEO of C.F.

NASHVILLE – July 14, 2017 –  Earlier this evening at Nashville’s Music City Center, The National Association of Music Merchants honored the Top 100 Dealers in the industry and announced the list of enterprising music product retailers who received “Best of” awards for their excellence in several areas, including the coveted “Dealer of the Year” award.
