The NAMM Foundation announced today that employees of NAMM-Member companies who are pursuing education and careers in the music products industry can submit applications to be considered for a William R. Gard Memorial Scholarship. The deadline for submitting an application is March 31, 2012.

The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) today announced details about how Members can participate in the association’s upcoming 2012 Advocacy Fly-In for Music Education event in Washington D.C. to support issues at the Congressional-level concerning the music products industry.

The most important deadline in corporate America today is the call for entries for the FORTUNE Battle of the Corporate Bands. For the 12th consecutive year, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum (Rock Hall), will showcase the most talented musicians in the corporate world representing the nation’s most progressive companies. All proceeds from the FORTUNE Battle of the Corporate Bands will benefit the Rock Hall’s educational activities.

A crowd of nearly 500 gathered at Downtown Disney District on Saturday, Jan. 21, for NAMM’s third annual SchoolJam USA, a national teen battle of the bands that rewards aspiring musicians and their respective school music education programs with more than $50,000 in cash and prizes. The event, produced by National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), took place during the world-famous NAMM Show held at the nearby Anaheim Convention Center.

The fourth day of the 2012 NAMM Show featured the “Best In Show—This Year’s Hottest Products” at the morning’s Breakfast Session. Frank Alkyer, publisher of Music Inc. and a panel of experts announced the recipients in the following categories: Best In Show

The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) today announced the final registration and exhibitor numbers for the 2012 NAMM Show, the largest and longest-running musical instruments and products trade show in the United States.

The third day of the 2012 NAMM Show continued to offer attendees more industry insight and business tips to take home with them, starting with a Breakfast Session called “The Top Web Marketing Trends for 2012” presented by John Arnold, marketing author and columnist at Entrepreneur.com. The session demonstrated the best ways for companies to spend their time and money, and recognize the new technologies that are less likely to pay off. It also outlined how to start using tools such as social media, search marketing, mobile devices and marketing locally on the Internet.

The sound engineers, editors, producers and other audio professionals behind Robert Plant’s Band of Joy, Adele’s 21, Roger Water’s “The Wall Live” Tour, Inception and NBC’s Saturday Night Live were among the many winners at the 27th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards. The gala, co-presented by the TEC Foundation for Excellence in Audio and NAMM, was held Friday evening at the Hilton Anaheim as a special event of the 2012 NAMM Show.

The NAMM Foundation launched its annual effort to recognize and support schools across the United States that support music education as part of a complete and quality education for all children. The Best Communities for Music Education recognition program celebrates the positive impact of music education on schools, students and communities. As school districts face mounting financial pressure, arts and music programs are often the first to face cutbacks.

The second day of the 2012 NAMM Show kicked off with another lively Breakfast Session held at the Hilton Anaheim. The event started with the Milestone Awards presented by NAMM Historian Dan Del Fiorentino and NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond for companies in business 75, 100 and 125 years. Next, they recognized Keith Bardak, president of Hal Leonard, for his contributions to NAMM’s Oral History Program, which features interviews with industry laureates. Attendees also enjoyed music from the Vitamin String Quartet.
