The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) opened its 2011 Summer NAMM music products trade show today at the Nashville Convention Center, welcoming more than 400 global music products manufacturers who will exhibit their newest products and latest innovations to retail buyers from all over the world today through Saturday. More than 11,000 music products industry professionals from 30+ countries are expected to attend 2011 Summer NAMM to view the latest musical instruments and products from exhibiting companies.

The first day of Summer NAMM kicked off with NAMM U’s inaugural Retail Summit Breakfast Session, held in the Renaissance Nashville Grand Ballroom, where NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond welcomed keynote speaker Robin Lewis, a retail expert and author of the current best-selling book The New Rules of Retail: Competing in the World’s Toughest Marketplace. 

The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) announced today that the association’s president and CEO Joe Lamond will be presenting a keynote address at the International Music Council’s 4th World Forum on Music to be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, in Tallinn, Estonia. The NAMM Foundation announced today that it is accepting applications at www.nammfoundation.org for its 2012 President’s Innovation Award to support under graduate and graduate students pursuing careers in the music products industry. 



The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) announced today that tickets are now available for Nashville's hottest musical instrument and product extravaganza called “Wanna Play Music Day” being held at the Nashville Convention Center on Saturday, July 23 during 2011 Summer NAMM. Tickets for “Wanna Play Day” cost $15 in advance through July 8 at www.namm.org/summer/2011/wannaplay or $20 at the door.

The TEC Foundation for Excellence in Audio has announced its Call for Entries for the 27th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards, to be held Jan. 20, 2012, at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, Calif.
