The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), has announced the top eight qualifying bands in the third annual SchoolJam USA competition. The bands were chosen by a combination of public votes and a panel of music professionals. A national program that rewards both aspiring teen musicians and their respective school music programs, SchoolJam USA features the best amateur teen bands between the ages of 13 and 19.

The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) today announced a new education and outreach initiative with the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) where the group will host a mini-conference called “Best Practices in Identifying, Selling and Managing Systems Integration Projects” at NAMM’s Hands-On-Training (H.O.T.) Zone area on Thursday, Jan. 19 from noon to 6 p.m.  

Continuing its tradition of attracting the most passionate and talented music makers from all walks of life, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) today announced that Band From TV will make a special appearance at the NAMM Show by hosting and performing at the annual music products industry trade show’s Celebrity Jam, which will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 from 5:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center’s main lobby stage.  

More than 50 million television viewers will be transported to a fantasy wonderland this Thanksgiving as they view the 85th anniversary of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. And joining the fun will be a collaborative floating stage from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) and Sesame Workshop depicting the magic of playing musical instruments this holiday season.

The NAMM Foundation announced today that it will be collaborating with The College Music Society to co-host the Society's Summit at the 2012 NAMM Show in Anaheim, Calif. from Jan. 20-21.

According to a new holiday retail survey commissioned by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), more than one-third of Americans prefer to give loved ones gifts that offer meaningful, life-enriching experiences. Perhaps telling of which experiences consumers may likely share with their families this year, the survey also found that 58 percent of those surveyed regretted not learning to play a musical instrument.

The NAMM Foundation today announced the recipients of its 2012 NAMM President’s Innovation Award. Students listed below will receive a grant to help support travel and expenses to attend the 2012 NAMM Show held in January in Anaheim, Calif. They will attend the "Generation Next" program at the NAMM Show, which offers college students seminars, networking and career-ready learning experiences. Guitar virtuoso, composer and producer Steve Vai will be presented with the prestigious Les Paul Award at the 27th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards, to be held Friday, January 20, in the Pacific Ballroom of the Hilton Anaheim during the 2012 NAMM Show. Co-presented by the TEC Foundation for Excellence in Audio and NAMM, the TEC Awards recognizes outstanding achievement in professional audio production and product design.

The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) today announced that 117 teen bands have advanced to the next level of the third annual SchoolJam USA battle of the teen bands competition, and is encouraging the public to vote online for their favorite one at www.schooljamusa.com.

The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) announced today that its Import Export Task Force, comprised of NAMM Members wanting to stay informed and involved in regulatory issues, will be meeting with regulators and representatives of Congress in Washington D.C. on Nov. 2 -3, 2011. The meetings will allow NAMM and its Members to discuss import and export issues including Lacey Act compliance, address the inhibitions to trade and commerce that exist within the law, and to continue to advocate for needed changes within the regulatory compliance framework.

The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) announced today that it has joined the Lacey Act Defense National Consensus Committee, a newly-formed group made up of companies, associations and organizations impacted by the Lacey Act, and leading environmental groups, with the purpose of creating a new standard designed to provide a defense to Lacey liability.
