Fresh off a multitude of pro audio product debuts, new innovations and a celebration of technical and creative achievements, the NAMM TEC Awards council has announced a call for entries to be honored at The 35th annual NAMM TEC Awards. Companies are encouraged to enter their products and/or projects in one of 23 Technical Achievement and eight Creative Achievement categories to be considered for recognition at  https://www.tecawards.org/call-for-entries

NAMM welcomes its global retail members to be recognized for retail excellence as part of the organization’s annual Top 100 Dealer Awards. Now in its ninth year and held during the Summer NAMM Show (July 18-20) in Nashville, the annual awards honor retailers who have demonstrated a commitment to best-practices, creativity, and innovation in music products retail. The submission process will open on Friday, March 15 to current NAMM retail members and will close on Friday, April 5.

During the course of four days at The 2019 NAMM Show, the global leaders of the music products, pro audio and event technology industries gathered at the Crossroads for new product introductions, business opportunities, networking and fresh inspiration.

Yesterday at The 2019 NAMM Show, 37 NAMM member companies were honored with the NAMM Milestone Award. The award, presented by NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond, recognizes music businesses that have flourished through changing business environments to reach a noteworthy anniversary. Milestone awardees included a three-hundred-year-old recipient, Musikverlag Breitkopf & Härtel; Carl Sauter Pianofortemanufaktur (200 Years) and Gibson Guitars, at 125 years. Earlier today at the Annual Meeting of Members at The 2019 NAMM Show, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) welcomed eight new board members to the organization’s Board of Directors. Each board member will serve a three-year term and provide oversight, input, and direction to the organization.

During the opening Breakfast of Champions session at The 2019 NAMM Show, Nancy Wilson, the celebrated guitar virtuoso and co-founder of seminal rock band Heart, was presented with the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) “Music for Life” award. The award honors pioneering artists who, through their careers and artistic expression, have inspired others to pursue a more musical world.

Famed rock ‘n’ roll photographer and author Neal Preston has spent decades capturing rock’s most pivotal moments and the personalities who have defined music and pop culture. GRAMMY® award-winning guitarist, singer, songwriter, and innovator Peter Frampton will receive the prestigious Les Paul Innovation Award at the 34th Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards (NAMM TEC Awards), being held Saturday, January 26, 2019, in Anaheim, CA.

Eight culturally-significant audio inventions will be inducted to the TECnology Hall of Fame (THOF), it was announced today by THOF Founder, George Petersen. The inventions span the 1940s through today.
