NAMM Musikmesse Russia (September 13 – 16), the international fair for musical instruments, sheet music, music production and music business connections, and Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia (September 13 – 15), the international trade fair of technologies and services for entertainment, integrated systems and creation, successfully concluded last week, welcoming nearly 13,000 music industry professionals and music lovers to the Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Held Thursday – Saturday at the annual Show (January 24-27, 2019) and under the guidance of the team from Live Sound International magazine, the systems showcase will take place inside the Anaheim Convention Center arena, giving participants the opportunity to demonstrate both their flown and portable systems in a real-world setting to a mix of industry professionals.

That’s why NAMM retail members are invited to attend the new Retail Innovation Summit at The 2019 NAMM Show. Held Wednesday, January 23 before the official opening of the Show, the Retail Innovation Summit will present a future-forward NAMM U educational experience, hosted by world-renowned retail guru Bob Phibbs, “The Retail Doctor.”  

The music begins at The 2019 NAMM Show, via the Bands @ NAMM program, a platform for artists of all ages and genres to showcase their talents to the crossroads of the industry. Held in Anaheim, California at the Anaheim Convention Center, January 24-27, The 2019 NAMM Show will host five stages across the campus. Locations include the Grand Plaza, the Marriott, Hilton, and Sheraton hotels, as well as a new stage in the Arena Plaza between the Anaheim Convention Center Arena and the Anaheim Convention Center North building.

The NAMM Foundation is honored to receive an inaugural Gold Telly Award for its 2018 public service announcement video, “Music is For Life.” The video, which debuted at The NAMM Show earlier this year, was recognized in the category of “Promotional – Not for Profit” by the Telly Awards as a “top-tier” entrant, earning the status of a Gold Award, a new award category which recognizes “videos which rise above the rest” in each award category and represents less than 3% of all submissions.

At Summer NAMM, the annual mid-year gathering of the industry, NAMM members from across the world met in Nashville to develop new business strategies, network and prepare for the all-important third and fourth quarters. Filled with optimism from a promising first half of the year, NAMM members rolled up their sleeves and got to work inside Nashville’s Music City Center (June 28-30) to invest in their businesses, relationships, learn new skills and best practices through professional education sessions, and gain competitive advantages in today’s dynamic marketplace.

Earlier this evening at Summer NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) celebrated the industry’s Top 100 Dealer Awards and recognized the enterprising music product retailers who received “Best of” awards for their excellence in several areas, including the coveted “Dealer of the Year” award.

The Parnelli Board of Advisors have announced that Chris Adamson will receive the Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award at the 18th annual ceremony on January 25 at The NAMM Show in Anaheim, California.

On Tuesday evening, The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation honored Representative Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) with the organization’s SupportMusic Champion Award. The award was presented in recognition of the Representative’s tireless work, and strong support of music education, including her lead role in the 2015 passage of the bipartisan Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). This new law puts more focus on a well-rounded education - including music - and gives more decision-making to states and local districts.
